Reminiscing
Sunday March 18th, 2007. So the story goes: we had a bunch of dates which reminded me of Ramadan and how I used to break my fast with dates and milk, so I decided to put them on a dinner plate, take a picture and reminisce. :) I miss how Qur'an used to be on almost every arab channel on satellite everyday for practically the whole day. I miss going to the masjid every night for taraweeh and prostrating in front of Allah (SWT), with the beautiful voice of the Imam and how he would be able to get deep into my heart with his khutbah and make my eyes fill up with tears of passion and determination.

mmmmmm...I miss Ramadan too...it's not that far away though...
I just had a date too :) it feels weird eating them out of Ramadan...

It's coming sooner than you think- when we're going back to school Ramadan will hit right in the first week of School-septemberish- so it's coming.
Throats dry.
Busting those books for a career.
Late night prayers at the Mosque with the warm night air.
Your mother's touch and scent waken you up for Ramadan breakfast.
You have the mid-term the next day but you don't care and still go to night prayers at the Mosque.
Little kids runninga around in the Mosque basement with sticky fingers.

Man that brings back good memories. You should try Madjool dates, there so so DELICIOUS, fat, and juicy. My mom always keeps extra box of those in stock in the pantry :)
P.S does any one remeber reading the Amelia Badelia story when Amelia Badelia tries making a date pie?
Yeah and she uses the calendar. haha
